About ROSANNA, VICTORIA
James Watson was a settler that bought a large portion of Warringal Village. The village was divided into nine groups, and Mr. Watson bought the part during 1840 and named the land he purchased Rose Anna Farm which is today known as Rosanna.
The Rosanna’s main Post Office opened in the second quarter of 1914, but it closed in 1917 only to reopen in 1926. West from the railway crossing is a Lower Plenty Road which has got its first shops opened in 1949. A fruitier merchant, fuel merchants, butcher, post office, and estate agent were one of the first businesses along this road.
